The Kythira World Heritage Fund and the Friends of the Kythira Museums invite you to a special cultural event on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., in Hall River Philharmonic, for the book presentation «Bound to Two Homelands» of Dr. Con Aroney, a distinguished cardiologist from Brisbane, Australia.
A book about roots, heroism, and immigration
The project is based on the a true story about the author's grandparents, Panagiotis and Irini Aroni (Koumessos), as well as their childhood friend, Konstantinos Aronis, and it is a a timeless story of heroism, resilience, and the experience of migration.
This is a The Kythirian Odyssey, as the title suggests, which keeps alive the memory of that generation that was uprooted but did not forget. A story that movingly tells of the faith, family, and the strength of Greek identity in the hearts of those living abroad.
His visit Dr. Con Aroney In Kythira, this is a special honor for the local community and the Greek diaspora, as he is a prominent figure in the medical field and within the Greek diaspora in Australia. His book has already caused a stir in the Greek-Australian community and is sure to deeply move the people of Kythira as well.
