Australia: The Greek festival returns to Brisbane

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the great Greek festival «Panigiri» returns to the calendar of the Queensland capital.

The “Panigiri” festival returns with a bang on the third weekend of May at Mulgrave Park in the West End. .

Thousands of people, both Greek and non-Greek, are expected to attend the two-day event featuring Greek music, dance, food, and activities that highlight Greek culture.

Among other things, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a small exhibition of ancient Greek artifacts from the Brisbane Museum, a photo exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor catastrophe, and a tour of the Holy Temple of St. Andrew.

The Festival opens its doors on Saturday, May 21, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sunday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
