New twist in the a murder case involving a Greek expatriate in the village of Khranitne / Granitna in eastern Ukraine, give the reports of the local administration of the Donetsk.
As OPEN's Moscow correspondent reports, Thanasis Avgerinos, the villagers speak of one dead expatriate (instead of the two originally announced) and two others injured, while there is another dead local community member.
According to statements by the local administration, the incident was not «for a trivial reason», as the Greek Foreign Ministry had said, but has a political basis, «as the Ukrainian soldiers who are deployed along the dividing line consider the Greek-speaking and, by extension, Russian-speaking population of the region as collaborators of the separatists’, as Avgerinos said on OPEN's »Hour of Greece“ programme.
The information concludes that the Ukrainian soldiers had set up an ambush outside the café where the expatriates were meeting and when they came out to have a cigarette, they shot them.
