Once again, the southerly winds of the Diakoftium acted as a deterrent to the liner's success, Aqua Jewel, to approach the port and dock there. Instead, the itinerary diverted at the end of its course, to end up at Saint Pelagia.
The incident occurred on Sunday, 31/01, during the return of the ship from Crete and Antikythera. According to the report of TSIRIGO FM, the inconvenience was compounded by the fact that the decision to divert the route was taken at the last minute by the captain, so there was no time to inform the passengers, who had already gone to Diakofti.
It is not the first time that this ship is unable to reach the port of Diakofti due to adverse weather conditions, which raises questions about its suitability, considering that the ships that preceded it on this route did not encounter similar problems with the same frequency.
It should be noted here that this captain seems to have decided in advance that in cases like yesterday - with strong southerly winds - will not even attempt to approach the port of Diakofti but will continue to Agia Pelagia.
