The list of deaths linked to the high-profile case of transportation of 2.1 metric tons of heroin with the Noor1 ship in Greece.
According to Mary Benea’s blog “dikografies,” the Greek businessman Vasilis Georgiadis, who lived in Dubai and had been trying desperately, since 2018, to get in touch with the Greek judicial authorities to provide information and evidence regarding a major corruption case involving government officials, which was linked to the Noor One case, he was found dead.
According to the same reports, his dog, with whom he lived in an apartment in Dubai, is also dead.
Vasilis Georgiadis was living in a peculiar state of captivity, as he had been barred from leaving the United Arab Emirates due to a financial dispute and was unable to travel to Greece.
According to sources at “Dikografies,” people close to him, with whom he spoke frequently, had been trying to reach him by phone since early September, but received no answer.
His relatives were informed by the Embassy that a body had been found in his apartment by the building’s security guard.
The cause of his death remains unknown, since, for some strange reason, His death certificate was issued on September 3, without his body having been identified and without an autopsy or postmortem examination having been performed.
The most shocking thing of all is that his body is still in the Emirates, as his relatives have not yet claimed it, while It is unknown where his personal belongings are, including valuable notes and two lap tops…
It should be noted that Vasilis Georgiadis gave two extensive interviews to “The Open Trial” and revealed previously unknown aspects of the high-profile case, such as the involvement of ten additional individuals—including two soccer officials—who remain at large.
In September 2020, Vasilis Georgiadis had testified before Investigating Judge Petropoulos, who had sent a questionnaire to the Greek Embassy in Dubai, revealing the involvement of individuals who remain at large.
As is well known, Investigating Judge Petropoulos subsequently closed the case with routine summonses, and he has since been transferred to the Court of First Instance in Chalkida.
It is unknown at this time what has become of the allegations made by Vasilis Georgiadis in his testimony before the investigating judge, or whether the investigating judge, Mr. Petropoulos, took an interest in them.
It should be noted that, following a live television appearance on «Diki» in June 2020, an investigation was also conducted by the Supreme Court.
