We have been informed that some self-proclaimed «Jehovah’s Witnesses» are touring our island, the island of Kythira, and are distributing pamphlets from the «Watchtower» organization.
We wish to inform the Christians of our island that this organization and its followers have no connection whatsoever with theCrucified and Risen Christ, even though they sometimes use the title: ’Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses,« nor with the Orthodox Church of Christ. On the contrary, they are its insidious enemies and adversaries. They distort and interpret the Holy Scriptures in their own way, and by going door-to-door to the homes of our Christians, they engage in proselytizing and propaganda against our Holy Church.
Beware of this terrible heresy (they are followers of the heresiarch Arius, the 4thno A.D.). Do not accept their visits or engage in discussions with them, for they are filled with the poison of heresy, delusion, and false doctrine. These people do not venerate the Holy Cross or the Holy Icons. Be on your guard.
