Wind turbines: Little benefit, big disaster, scientists now say

The construction and operation of wind turbines as an alternative to electricity generation is now highly questioned. The conclusions that have emerged since the first wind turbines began operating are both disappointing and revealing:

According to data from GREEN PLANET:

«The electricity generated by the operation of wind turbines is incredibly insignificant while the damage to the natural environment is unprecedented and irreparable!»

The facts related to the installation of wind turbines show that an uncontrolled destruction of the natural environment is underway, with the sole motive of financially benefiting businessmen, who take advantage of the large subsidies of the European Union, taking advantage of legislation favourable to them.

Some of the effects, according to the scientists, are:
- Flora, fauna, unexplored archaeological sites, traditional paths, will be lost under the weight of violent interventions.

- Hundreds of wind turbines, substations, transmission lines will obliterate the beauty of natural landscapes that will be transformed into industrial wind energy production zones. They will also deal a severe blow to tourism (in Denmark tourism fell 40%), livestock farming and all those who work and live off the forest.

- The largest wind farm in Europe has three permanent employees. So the pretext of fighting unemployment is false.

- The forest is being destroyed by landscaping and road widening.

- The installations serve the opportunistic interests of wind energy entrepreneurs who are quick to exploit European funds as new colonialists.

- Those who seek the tranquillity of nature and the countryside, stop visiting areas with wind turbines because of the visual and sound pollution. Anyone who tries to live even one day in an area next to wind turbines will find this to be true.

- The sound of a wind turbine is a piercing, low-frequency thump noise every time the helix passes through its tower. It is reminiscent of the helicopter's reverberation from a distance.

- Visually, a wind turbine can be seen from a distance of 40 kilometres as its height starts at 65 metres and can reach up to 185 metres. The total weight of each wind turbine is proportional to its size, ranging from 223 tonnes, 264 tonnes, 313 tonnes and up to 383 tonnes.

«Each wind turbine needs 100 square meters of cement and at least 3 meters deep and for each pylon about 500 cubic meters of concrete need to be poured.»

- Several times it has happened that propellers, each weighing 1.5 tons, have been broken and thrown up to 400 meters away.

- They affect people psychologically even at a distance of 1.5 km.

- Even if 25,000 wind turbines are installed the pollutants in carbon dioxide and sulphur dioxide will remain at 99.93%.

– The price of the current produced by wind energy, which reaches the final recipient, i.e. the consumer, is not only not reduced, but is increased from 130% to 400%, compared to conventional energy prices.

- The animal kingdom will suffer. Wind turbines in the California region alone kill an average of 200-300 hawks, and 40-60 golden eagles annually, and it has been estimated that 7,000 migratory birds a year are killed by wind turbines in southern California.

- The manifesto of 100 German professors and intellectuals on wind energy states:

«The capacity to generate energy from wind is comparatively low. Wind turbines with a blade area equal to the size of a football field produce only a very small percentage of the energy produced by a conventional power station.

So with more than 5,000 wind turbines in Germany, produced less than 1% of the required electricity. In the UK, it would take 14,400 wind turbines to generate 4.4% of electricity and 32,700 to generate 10%.

Infection indicators are similar for the same reason. The contribution of wind energy to avoiding global warming is about 1 to 2 per thousand

Little energy - Lots of «rubbish»

Statistically, wind energy is absolutely insignificant in terms of its contribution to collective energy production and therefore to environmental pollution and global warming.

- While this technology has been known for many years, it was used in the last few years when subsidies for wind farms started.

Where the subsidies stopped, they stopped maintaining them.

This was the case in Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway and California in the USA. The lifetime limit of wind turbines is no more than 20-25 years.

If their construction continues (which is in fact a continuation of subsidies since that is what the «investments» are intended for), what will be bequeathed to future generations will be a vast graveyard of scrap metal and mountains loaded with thousands of tons of concrete and thousands of meters of underground and overhead wiring.
