One wedding is never enough. Especially when it comes to a twenty-year love story. So Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez got married for the second time.
The couple celebrated their love with yet another wedding ceremony, on Saturday, August 20, which took place at the actor’s estate outside Savannah, Georgia. The reception took place at the same venue where the couple had planned to get married in the early 2000s.
The two exchanged vows in front of family and friends, including Affleck’s longtime collaborator, Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, as well as director Kevin Smith and actor Jason Mewes, who arrived dressed in white.
Lopez was wearing an ultra-elegant white dress by Ralph Lauren, featuring textured fabric, a voluminous skirt, and short sleeves.
The most striking feature, however, was the seven-meter veil that fell simply behind her as she walked down a white aisle. Affleck wore a white tuxedo jacket and a black bow tie.
All five of their children attended the ceremony: Affleck has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez has twins from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony.
However, the actor's brother, Casey Affleck, was unable to attend due to «family and parental obligations at home,» according to an anonymous source who spoke to People.
The three-day wedding celebration follows their surprise wedding in Las Vegas, which took place in July with only close family and friends in attendance.
«We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out that love can be patient—even for twenty whole years,» the singer wrote on her blog «On the JLo,» which she maintains for her fans.
A few days later, the two of them set off on their honeymoon across Europe, where Lopez celebrated her birthday and Affleck took a few very nice naps.
A Wedding in White
Along with Smith and Meus, other guests adhered to the dress code, honoring the color white. The fairy-tale-like and minimalist aesthetic was evident in every detail, from the elegant white chairs and the white aisle to the white piano at the end of the aisle.
Thanks to various security measures, the famous guests were able to enjoy a private celebration away from the spotlight, which concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.
