The ability recycling of the used, homemade cooking oil, provides the Municipality in the households of Kythira, with the pilot facility special bins at selected locations on the island.
These bins are already located in the parking lot of River, in Country (at the turn behind the middle school) and at the Meadow (across from the «Pierros» restaurant), while another one is expected to be installed at the Saint Pelagia.
The mayor of Kythira, Efstratios Charchalakis, also addressed the issue in a related post on his personal Facebook profile.
Mr. Charchalakis wrote:
«WE RECYCLE USED COOKING OIL"
Starting today, a pilot program to collect used cooking oil in special bins is launching on our island. This initiative is part of our municipality’s broader policy for the environmentally sound management of all types and kinds of waste.»
