On Sunday 15 March 2026, a public consultation was held in Alimos, at the initiative of the local Municipality. The subject of the meeting was the examination of the new proposal submitted by the company DAKON, the contractor after a tender for the development of the land intended for the Kytheria Cultural Centre.
The process began with the presentation of the proposal by the lawyer of the Municipality and the residents, Mr. Karampasiadis, in order to inform the attendees about the legal and technical data.
The consultation was attended by local residents, who also took the floor:
- The Board of Directors of the Cultural and Recreational Association of the Kytheria Area of Alimos «Myrtidiotissa».
- Ms Korobili, as a representative of the municipal faction «Popular Coordination».
- The Mayor of Alimos, Mr. Andreas Kondylis.
The majority of the residents who took the floor expressed their disagreement with the Foundation's proposed development. The main arguments recorded were that the new design both deviates from the public purpose and the will of the original donor of the donation, and is considered to cause a burden on the local area.
The meeting concluded with the rejection of the Trifyllio proposal by the residents present. At the close of the consultation, a request was made to the Mayor of Alimos to proceed with the necessary legal and administrative actions, in order to comply with the terms of the donation and the final operation of the Cultural Centre in the specific area.
