A gradual deterioration of the weather with heavy rains, thunderstorms and possibly hailstorms in some places is expected from tonight in the northwestern part of the country and tomorrow Thursday (5/2) in the remaining areas of western Greece, the northeastern mainland and the eastern islands. Very strong southerly south-southeast winds of 8 and locally 9 Beaufort will blow today until the evening in the Ionian Sea and tomorrow from morning until the afternoon in the Eastern Aegean.
More specifically, according to the Emergency Weather Forecast issued by the National Weather Service, heavy rain and thunderstorms are predicted in some places:
a. in the northern part of the Ionian Sea (Corfu, Diapontian Islands, Paxos) and Epirus from tonight until the early hours of tomorrow b. in the rest of the Ionian Islands (Lefkada, Ithaca, Kefalonia, Zakynthos) and western Sterea tomorrow, from the early hours until the afternoon c. in the western and southern Peloponnese from early morning tomorrow until late evening d. in eastern Macedonia and Thrace from the early morning hours tomorrow until night e. in the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean from noon tomorrow until the early morning hours of Friday (6/2) f. in the Dodecanese from the afternoon tomorrow until the morning of Friday (6/2).
Kythera: Mild weather conditions with high temperatures until Sunday - Worsening from Monday
High temperatures for the season and generally mild weather conditions will prevail in Kythera until Sunday, February 8, according to the latest forecasts. The maximum temperature will range from 15 to 17 degrees Celsius, with the minimum temperatures remaining at 12-14 degrees, while the main weather feature will be cloudy and strong winds.

The Thursday 5 February cloudy weather is forecast, with light showers at times, mainly from midday to afternoon. Winds will blow southwest to west, 4-5 Beaufort, with gusts reaching 55 km/h locally.
The Friday 6 February temperatures will remain high for the season, reaching up to 17°C. Light showers will mainly occur during the night and early morning hours, while from the afternoon the weather will improve. Winds will increase in the evening up to Beaufort 6, with gusts of up to 70 km/h.
The Saturday 7 February and the Sunday 8 February will roll with scattered clouds, intervals with few clouds and a gradual slight drop in temperature. Winds will blow mainly westerly 4-5 Beaufort, without significant phenomena.
However, a change in the weather is expected from Monday 9 February, with sharp deterioration. Provided showers and thunderstorms, locally strong, drop in temperature and strengthening winds up to 6 Beaufort, mainly from southwestern directions.
Caution is advised, especially from Monday onwards, both for travel and marine activities.
