Kythera Chora is preparing to host the first Belvedere Festival, an event that aims to highlight the cultural wealth of the island and offer unique experiences to residents and visitors. The festival, which is organized by the Kytheraikos Association and the Kythera Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Municipality of Kythera, will take place on 29 and 30 August 2024, with two nights full of music, dance and traditional events.
First Night - 29 August 2024
At the Gymnasium of Kythera, at 20:30, a dance event will take place with the participation of the Cultural-Traditional Association of Selino and Paleochora of Chania. Together with them, the dance section of the Kytheraiko Association of Kythera Cultural Centre will be presented. The entrance fee is only 4€, offering a unique opportunity for the spectators to enjoy a combination of traditional music and dance.
The first night will be attended by the musicians Nikitas, Giannis, Kostis, the lyre player Tzanakis Nikos, the lutist Psaroudakis Giorgos, while the program will be accompanied by Dj Sakis. The guest of honour will be Manos Kominos, who promises to impress the audience with his presence.
Second Night - 30 August 2024
The next evening, entitled “Travelling in time from Belvedere”, will take place in the square of Chora at 20:30. The event will include the presentation of Giostra di Zante, with the participation of drummers and Zakynthian cantors, transporting the spectators to another era with the enchanting atmosphere and traditional music that will fill the square.
The event is a unique opportunity for lovers of tradition and cultural heritage to enjoy two unforgettable nights under the stars of Kythera.
