Chalkos Beach is one of the most popular and crowded beaches on Kythira. It is located in the southern part of the island, near the village of Kalamos, and is about 8 kilometers from Chora, Kythira.
Although it is relatively small, it is located in a picturesque cove surrounded by cliffs and sea caves, and is usually sheltered from the winds. The beach features fine pebbles and deep turquoise waters, and its beautiful seabed offers ideal conditions for snorkeling enthusiasts.
Although there is no natural shade, the beach is equipped with umbrellas and lounge chairs for rent. There is also a beach bar on the shore where you can purchase everything you need for your stay. In addition, a day at the beach in Chalkos can be combined with a meal or coffee in the nearby villages of Kalamos, Kapsali, or Livadi.
The beach is easily accessible by car, and there is plenty of parking behind the beach.
