We have heard about fines for offenders who pollute the island or waste (or steal?) the water, but we have not seen any fines. Never! But it seems that from 9 years of announcements the Mayor more determined than ever is starting to impose fines.
Today 13 July 2023 by decision of the Mayor of Kythera Efstratios Harhalakis established a committee to control and establish violations of the Water Supply and Sanitation Regulations.
According to the decision of the above committee will make regular and extraordinary checks compliance with the Cleaning Regulation and the Water Regulation of the Municipality of Kythera, will draw up a relevant Record with the violations found and will immediately hand it to the Financial Service of the Municipality for the imposition of the fine and the competent Deputy Mayor.
Also the above committee may request the assistance of the staff of the EL.AΣ. in the exercise of its duties.
