More specifically, on Thursday 1 December 2022, locally heavy rain or thunderstorms are expected in most areas of the country. The strong phenomena will gradually decrease after noon in Northern Greece, the East Aegean islands, and the Dodecanese, while in other areas a gradual decrease in intensity is expected. At the same time, concentrations of African dust will be relatively elevated in the southernmost parts of the country, the East Aegean islands and the Dodecanese.
The temperature will range in Western Macedonia from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Northern Greece from 5 to 12 degrees Celsius, in Western Greece from 7 to 16 degrees Celsius, in Thessaly from 7 to 13 degrees Celsius, in the rest of the mainland from 8 to 15-17 degrees Celsius, in the Ionian islands from 12 to 16 degrees Celsius, in the North Aegean islands from 12 to 15 degrees Celsius and in the rest of the Aegean islands and in Crete from 12 to 18-19 degrees Celsius.
The winds will blow in the North Aegean, east northeast with intensities of 6-7 Beaufort, while in the rest of the Aegean prevail southwest winds with intensities of 5-6 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea, winds will initially blow from various directions with intensities of 5-6 Beaufort, while after noon northwest winds with intensities of 4-5 Beaufort will prevail.
In Attica we expect showers and thunderstorms until the morning, which will be intense in places and at times. Hail is also possible. From the morning hours onwards, local rain or isolated thunderstorms will occur, but there will also be periods of improved weather. Winds will blow south-southwest at 4-5 Beaufort and until the morning locally 6 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 12 to 15 degrees.
In Thessaloniki, rainfall is expected to be heavy at times. There is a possibility of a temporary thunderstorm. In the evening the phenomena will weaken. Winds will blow from eastern directions with 4-5 Beaufort winds. The temperature will range from 9 to 12 degrees.
