Charitsis: Supermarkets are a «nightmare,» the government is deceiving society

The Minister of Development and Investment of SYRIZA-PS stresses that «the "household basket", which concerns only fifty of the thousands of products, can in no way cope with the explosive situation».

«At a time when the supermarket has become a nightmare, obscenity is sweeping the market, the accuracy of basic foodstuffs is unprecedented and disposable income is one of the lowest in Europe, the government insists on dealing with the unprecedented crisis with communication tricks.».

This is according to a statement by Head of the Development and Investment Department of SYRIZA-PS Alexis Haritsis and stresses in particular that «the “household basket”, which concerns only fifty of the thousands of products, can not in any way address the explosive situation, something that, moreover, emphasize in their announcements of market operators».

Mr.Haritsis notes that «instead of intensifying controls and strict crackdown on obscenity, instead of reducing VAT on food and VAT on fuel, as recommended by the EU, the Mitsotakis government continues to deceive the society that is being tested».». It argues that the government «neither willing nor able to deal decisively and effectively with the crisis» and that the only solution is political change.
