A major fire broke out shortly after 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, in the Agia Pelagia area. Due to strong winds in the area, the fire quickly spread to the Agia Anastasia area.
According to initial reports, the fire broke out in the area behind the reservoir above the village of Agia Pelagia.
At this time, a fire department vehicle is on the scene, and local residents are assisting, while the full complement of the Kythira Fire Department is expected to arrive at any moment.
