South Korea: 139,339 new infections, 63 deaths due to Covid-19 in 24 hours

The South Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KCDA) announced today that 139,339 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in the last 24 hours and 63 patients died due to complications of COVID-19.

The death toll of the pandemic reached 26,224 out of a total of 22,588,640 infections, according to the KCDA. The mortality rate remained unchanged at 0.12%.

The number of new infections decreased compared to 150,258 the previous day and from the 180,763 reported exactly one week ago.

Currently, 573 patients with COVID-19 are hospitalized in serious condition, 86 more than in the previous 24 hours.
