After four successful events, the Contemporary Dance Festival «Compartments Dance Project» returns for the 5th year in Train - Train Theatre in Rouf daily from the Sunday 18 September until Sunday 2 October 2022.
Dancers, choreographers and dance groups wishing to participate in the world's only railway festival of contemporary dance are invited to submit their proposals and register their participation in time, due to the limited number of participants.
The New Wagon with its 12 small «compartments» and every other unpredictable stage and non-stage space of the Wagon-Theatre is the stage of the Festival.
This year, however, the spotlight will fall on the newly equipped outdoor stage at the Train Station in Rouf, which will host the largest number of participants.
Themes and concepts related to «travel» such as flight, departure, arrival, transfer, route, station, station, recreation, recreation, migration, separation, separation, refugee and everything else that can encompass a «journey», literally and metaphorically, but also more personal and internal «routes» are sources of inspiration and find their ideal dimension in the space.
The dancers are invited to co-operate with the unconventional spaces of Train in Rouf, to integrate them into their projects, to talk with them, to interact with the viewers using any other art form if they wish and to present their dance performances, lasting from 10’ to 30 minutes, daily for 15 days.
The proposals will be evaluated in relation to the originality and in-depth presentation of the theme, the interaction, the imaginative use of space and the number of performers in each group.
All performances will be presented daily on a rolling schedule from 19:00 to 23.30pm for a continuous 15 days.
Interested dancers, choreographers and dance groups can send their proposal (extensive description of the project and relevant audiovisual material from previous performances), biographies of performers and contributors accompanied by photos and contact phone numbers to theater@totrenostorouf.gr by Monday 20 June 2022.
The selection of the finalists will be announced until 28 June 2022.
