Google confirms: Government agencies in Greece have purchased Predator surveillance software

Greece is one of the countries that supplied the Predator software, which is alleged to have been used for surveillance of journalists, as Google officially stated in a post.

«We estimate with great certainty that these exploits [i.e. the application Predator] were manufactured by a single commercial surveillance company, the Cytrox, and sold at different government agencies (...). According to the findings of the CitizenLab, we estimate that the government agencies buying these exploits are (at least) in the Egypt, the Armenia, the Greece, the Madagascar, the Ivory Coast, the Serbia, the Spain and the Indonesia», says Google.
