His full support to the Mayor of Poros, John Demetriades, on the occasion of complaint of the latter against the Deputy Minister of Planning and Urban Environment Dimitris Economou, expressed in a letter from the mayor of Kythera, Efstratios Harhalakis.
In his letter, Mr. Harchalakis shares the concerns of his counterpart for the establishment of an industrial zone for fish farms (P.O.A.Y.) in the coastal zone of Poros, with the controversial zoning being decided by the Deputy Minister of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment Dimitris Economou, who in fact appears to have been a member of a team of consultants (before taking office), which carried out the private strategic environmental impact study for the designation of the PDOAs in the administrative boundaries of the municipality of Poros.
The mayor of Kythera speaks of coordinated actions of local government through its institutions, in defense of self-government and constitutional rights.
