The number of deaths from coronavirus in our country is steadily in triple digits as 103 more died in the last 24 hours. In total, the EODY announced 108 deaths as there was an integration of deaths recorded late in the National COVID19 Registry.
There was an increase in new cases, with 24,308 infections (compared to 19,731 yesterday), while the number of people admitted to hospital decreased from 576 to 563.
A total of 496,506 tests were performed (40,684 molecular and 455,822 rapid), with a positivity rate of 4.9%.
In particular, according to the relevant EODY announcement, the new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 24,308, of which 65 were detected after checks at the country's entry gates. The total number of cases is 1,965,719 (daily change +1.3%), of which 49.8% are males. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 441 are considered to be associated with travel from abroad and 2,229 are associated with an already known case.
There are 103 new deaths of COVID-19 patients, with a total of 23,608 deaths recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.1% had underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older.
The number of hospitalized intubated patients is 563 (60.7% men). Their median age is 66 years. 83.8% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years or older. Among intubated patients, 444 (78.86%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 119 (21.14%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4 048 patients have been discharged from ICUs.
The admissions of new Covid-19 patients to hospitals in the territory are 454 (daily change +14.07%). The seven-day average admission rate is 436 patients. The median age of cases is 35 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of deaths is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
