«An »incident” between the Minister of State and the president of SYRIZA, after the latter concluded his speech during the final session of the five-day debate on the 2022 state budget in the Plenary Session of the Hellenic Parliament.
«It’s time for you to step down, Mr. President,» the Minister of State said provocatively, addressing Alexis Tsipras, who replied: «You have not been elected by the Greek people, nor are you a party president, so I am under no obligation to respond to you. By virtue of my position, I demand that you retract your statement.».
The Speaker of the House noted that it is customary for two ministers to speak between the speeches of the leader of the official opposition and the prime minister.
