Attack against members of the youth of the KNE, occurred on Sunday afternoon in Ilioupoli Thessaloniki. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers were right-wing extremists, who used heavy chains and even tasers, injuring at least four people before disappearing into the surrounding alleys.
The ELAS made 14 arrests.
As the eyewitnesses said, according to the grtimes.gr, about 10 people appeared out of nowhere, armed with chains and other objects, and pretending a suspicious incident, started beating the members of the KNE and anyone else they found in front of them.
According to the police, the perpetrators of the attack were informed that members of the KNE, about 20 people, were distributing leaflets in Eleftherias Square, arrived at the spot and attacked them.
According to the police, there were about five perpetrators who attacked the members of the KNE youth. The attack left a 22-year-old man with a head injury, who was taken by ambulance to the Papanikolaou hospital. Also injured two more people were fortunately slightly, which were given first aid and returned home.
A strong police force is at the scene in order to identify the perpetrators.
The new incident comes in the shadow of the successive incidents of the last few days in Thessaloniki.
Announcement of the KKE's Central Committee of Macedonia on the attack
The attack on the members of the KNE in Ilioupolis in Thessaloniki denounces the Party Organization of Central Macedonia of the KKE.

The brazen Nazi criminals attacked in front of hundreds of workers, youth and children, proving that they are a criminal Nazi gang. They wounded four members of the KKE and the KNE. In the face of the massive reaction of the local residents, they fled. If they think they will scare the people, the working people and the youth, they are deeply mistaken. Their action must be met with universal opposition, to isolate fascism.».
The KKE Central Macedonia K.O. released photos of the attack, asking the government to take action. «To take its responsibility towards the action of fascist gangs. To protect the free political action, the action of the movement from their attacks. The people to isolate them in the neighborhoods, schools, workplaces,» it said in the statement.
