What happened yesterday in Metropolis, with the crowd strongly disapproving of the Prime Minister, ...caused a disturbance in the Maximos Mansion which a few hours later was informed about a poll presented by Kontra, in which for the first time the popularity ratings for Mitsotakis are negative.
The chants of disapproval also provoked an intense dialogue between the Prime Minister and the Secretary General of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas.
As Vassilis Skouris writes in ieidiseis.gr:
After the completion of the funeral and while the political leaders were waiting on the church staircase for the body of the Mikis Theodorakis, citizens gathered in the square started shouting slogans against the Prime Minister, giving «air» to an anti-government demonstration.
Mr. Mitsotakis, obviously annoyed, stood in front of the General Secretary of the KKE, Mr. Koutsoumbas, and in front of those present he addressed him in a particularly strong tone:
«What are these things? Did you bring them here to swear at me?» the Prime Minister remarked, in the presence of many such witnesses.
Mr.Koutsoumbas, surprised, replied that «what are you talking about? What do I have to do with it? No one can stop people», with Mitsotakis insisting that the KKE was responsible for the security.
He even replied, «Yes, you were responsible.»
