Following yesterday's state announcements on young people national restrictions on travel, entering into force from Saturday 7/11 at 06:00 until 30/11 and in order to ensure a timely and smooth adaptation of passengers to the new exceptional restrictive measures, the AEGEAN informs the travelling public that, despite the new significant restrictions, it will not make no cancellation or alteration of its published itineraries, for both the domestic and international network on Saturday 7/11, Sunday 8/11 and Monday 9/11.
Furthermore, passengers will be able to change their tickets with a travel date during the whole period of the restrictive measures, namely from 7/11 to 30/11, to another date within or outside this period, without a rebooking fee. These changes can be made directly from the website or by contacting the travel agency that issued the tickets, without the need to contact the company's call center.
For the period from 10/11 to 30/11, during which the restrictive measures will remain in force, the company will make appropriate adjustments to its programme accordingly.
More specifically, AEGEAN informs the passenger public about the following:
Domestic Travel: In accordance with the instructions of the competent authorities, travel outside the county and using a domestic flight is permitted only for business travel, return to permanent residence or for health reasons, and passengers must have the relevant certificate describing the reason for their journey. From Tuesday 10/11 AEGEAN will maintain connections to all domestic destinations, but with adjusted frequencies dictated by the new conditions.
It should be noted that from Tuesday 09/11 onwards, flights from and to Thessaloniki Macedonia airport will be reintegrated into the domestic network, which had been suspended due to local restrictive measures already since 2 November.
Travel Abroad: In accordance with the same instructions from 9/11/2020 all passengers entering the country must have a negative PCR Covid-19 test 48 hours before their flight. At the same time, both arriving and now departing passengers must have completed the PLF (Passenger Locator Form) at least 24 hours before the flight.
AEGEAN on the basis of these data and contrary to the first lockdown for the period March, April and May will maintain its entire domestic and international network, with physically adjusted frequencies.
It should be noted that from next week the network from Thessaloniki to Germany and Cyprus, which was recently interrupted, will also be restored. In any case, as restrictions and prohibitions on travel between countries are constantly changing, it is extremely important for passengers to check before their journey any restrictions imposed by each destination country on the www.aegeanair.com.
«AEGEAN will continue to support the interconnectivity of the country, the region and our islands as much as it can. Our priority remains of course the protection and health of our passengers and crews. Today, we have accumulated experience from the management of the previous period, but also more tools than in the first lockdown, both in pre-flight procedures, such as PCR tests for incoming guests from abroad, and in procedures that have proven to be effective in-flight. The circumstances are extremely difficult, but we will again do everything possible to offer our passengers the best service,» said AEGEAN CEO Dimitris Gerogiannis.
