A major project is currently underway fire which occurred in the early morning hours in the area Fygia, Karystos, Euboea, while the 112 emergency line issued an order for a precautionary evacuation in Marble and in the settlements Kokkini and Doctors' Housing Cooperative.
Currently, 46 firefighters with 20 vehicles and one ground crew are operating at the scene, while six helicopters are providing aerial support to extinguish the fire. At the same time, volunteer firefighters and water tankers from the local government are also assisting.
It should be noted that strong winds are hampering the fire department's efforts.

Firefighting operations are continuing at various fire sites across Greece. Assistance is being provided by forces deployed through the European Civil Protection Mechanism, the Armed Forces, volunteer firefighters, water tankers, and construction equipment from local authorities.
In the fire that broke out on August 16, 2021, in a forested area in Vilia, 299 firefighters with 98 vehicles continue to battle the blaze, including nine teams of ground crews and 61 firefighters with 18 vehicles from Romania. Assistance is being provided by the Greek Army, volunteer firefighters, as well as water tankers and earth-moving equipment from the regional and local authorities.
All Fire Department units nationwide remain on general alert, and aerial surveillance patrols continue, as do joint patrols involving fire, police, and military forces.
