Mondays in August call out “CINE Portokalia”! Young and old friends who gathered on Monday at Cine Portokalia applauded wholeheartedly for the film “Roka Changes the World.” Every Monday, a small garden of emotions blooms in the welcoming space of the Patrician School. The “Portokalia” association warmly thanks the participating viewers and volunteer projectionists for the beautiful moments. We continue with another film for children:

A film by Jannik Hastrup.
Fiction, color, 78 min, Denmark-France, 2002

Summary:
In a den on a barren hill, a polar bear gives birth to a cub—but the newborn dies at birth. In a hut a little further away, a woman gives birth to a strong, healthy boy. The polar bear is so saddened by the loss of her cub that she collapses on the ice and dies. So her mate steals the woman's baby and brings him to the ice. The boy grows up with the bear, learning everything a bear needs to know: an easy thing for a boy. This is the beginning of a beautiful fairy tale, where the spirit of the hills helps those who really want to become someone.
