The new laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 recorded in the last 24 hours by the EODY are 1,400, of which 12 were detected following checks at the country's entry points. The total number of cases is 333,129 (daily change +0.4%), of which 51.3% are men. Based on confirmed cases in the last 7 days, 72 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 3,106 are related to an already known case.
The number of patients receiving intubated care is 816 (63.21% men). Their median age is 68 years. 84.91% have underlying conditions and/or are aged 70 years or older. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,032 patients have been discharged from the ICU. There are 481 new Covid-19 admissions to hospitals in the country (daily change +1.91%). The seven-day average of admissions is 472 patients. The median age of cases is 44 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
There have been 57 new deaths of patients with COVID-19, while a total of 10,007 deaths have been recorded since the start of the epidemic. 95.51% had underlying conditions and/or were aged 70 or over. The median age of those who died is 79 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
From January 1, 2020, to date, laboratories conducting tests for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and systematically reporting all samples tested have tested a total of 4,577,609 clinical samples, while 3,270,465 samples have been tested by EODY Health Units and Teams conducting Rapid Ag tests. The seven-day average is 54,181 sample tests per day.
Mass Sampling by EODY: On April 24, 2021, 24 sampling actions were carried out by the Mobile Health Teams(KOMY) of EODY, during which 4,502 Rapid Ag tests were performed and 82 positive cases were found (1.82%).
