Our skin is the largest organ of our body, covering practically every inch of our body. It should come as no surprise that a whole host of problems can occur in our skin.
The skin suffers a lot of damage as it is exposed to the elements more than any other part of our body - and this occurs in a variety of ways. Whether it's warts, moles, rashes, or acne, there are many diseases that plague the skin.
Fortunately, there are also many natural ways that you can use to combat many of these external problems. Learn about some of the most common skin problems and the best homemade methods to treat them.
Ageing spots
No one can stop the effects of ageing. Aging can cause some serious effects that come in the form of wrinkles, fine lines and aging spots. Get rid of brown spots quickly with these home remedies:
1. Onion and apple cider vinegar. Apply a mixture of equal parts onion juice and apple cider vinegar directly to the spots. Make onion juice by crushing an onion, and strain it.
2. Henna and milk. Soak raw horseradish in a bowl of milk for 20-30 minutes before applying it to the skin. The antioxidants and volatile compounds will fade the spots and eventually make them disappear.
3. Buttermilk and tomato. The strong acids in both of these ingredients are ideal for whitening dark spots.
Cretaceous moles
They can be hereditary or develop due to sun exposure. If you hate your moles, there are ways to reduce their appearance - however, don't forget the consequences of skin cancer. Any moles that look suspicious should be examined by your doctor immediately.
1. Cumin. Make a paste of cumin and water and apply it to your moles for a period of three weeks.
2. Bath in essential oil. If you have a lot of moles on different parts of your body, then take a hot bath where you will have added 1 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of sea salt, 6 drops of lavender essential oil, and 3 drops of frankincense oil.
3. Flaxseed and honey. Flaxseed oil helps remove moles naturally, while honey helps prevent secondary infections and scars. Start by washing the affected area with lukewarm water and dry it, then mix 1 teaspoon of flaxseed oil powder with enough flaxseed oil and honey to make a homogeneous paste. Apply the paste directly to the mole and cover it with gauze. After an hour, wash off with lukewarm water.
Ants
A big skin problem is warts. Many people spend large amounts of money to remove them, but there are natural remedies!
1. Apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has many uses and helps to get rid of warts. Soak a piece of cotton in the vinegar and then fix it on the wart with a piece of sticky tape.
2. Banana peel. This alone may take a little more effort than vinegar, but the banana peel contains proteolytic enzymes that can break down ants. Use a spoon to scrape the white, soft substance inside the peel, and apply it to the ant, covering it with duct tape. Repeat daily.
3. Pineapple juice. This works in the same way as above. Apply pineapple juice topically to get rid of the warts.
Black spots
Learn some easy ways to get rid of blackheads:
1. Baking soda. You may have heard that baking soda is a natural antiseptic, which means it helps balance pH levels. It encourages your skin to produce less oil and exfoliates the skin by removing dead cells, thus reducing pimples. Add some water to make a paste and apply it on the blackheads for about ten minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
2. Oatmeal. Cook the oatmeal as usual, let it cool and apply it to your face, leaving it on for 10 to 20 minutes.
3. Lemon juice. The alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) and citric acid in lemon juice removes dead skin and relaxes clogged pores. Rich in vitamin C, lemon juice stimulates collagen production and improves the overall health of your skin. After cleansing your face, use a piece of cotton to dab lemon juice on your pimples and let it dry. You can leave it on overnight or rinse it off after ten minutes. Be careful if you have nicks, otherwise the juice will sting.
Fibromats
These small skin bumps may be harmless, but they can be annoying. Don't worry, there are easy ways to get rid of annoying fibroids:
1. Oregano oil. Oregano oil is a powerful antiseptic and antispasmodic. Applying 5-6 drops of oil on fibroma 3 times a day will help in getting rid of it. You will see results in about a month.
2. Castor oil and baking soda. Mix the two ingredients to make a thick paste. Dip a cotton swab into the paste and rub it onto the skin fibroma.
3. Lemon juice. As with other skin problems, the acidic and antiseptic properties of lemon juice work wonders on fibroids. Soak a piece of cotton ball in lemon juice and apply it directly to the fibroids at least once a day.
