Ο President of Russia, Vladimir Putin committed a «huge strategic blunder» by launching the war on Ukraine, as the Finland and the Sweden are about to join the NATO in the summer, says an article in the newspaper The Times, which quotes US officials without naming them.
The officials of the USA, stressed to the British newspaper that the membership of the two Nordic countries in the alliance was «the subject of discussion» and «many meetings» between foreign ministers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation countries last week, which included Stockholm and Helsinki, according to the Times.
