The President of SYRIZA PS, Stefanos Kasselakis, had a meeting with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew yesterday afternoon at the Hotel «Megali Bretania».
According to the party's announcement, in the context of the meeting, the president of SYRIZA PS presented the Ecumenical Patriarch with a letter of response to his letter of congratulations and thanked him for his support to the people affected in Thessaly. At the same time, they discussed the importance of initiatives for peace and respect for international law in Ukraine and the Middle East, the Ecumenical Patriarch's long-standing efforts for the protection of the environment, as well as the strong message of respect for human life that he gave in April 2016 from Lesvos during the refugee crisis.
They also discussed the issues of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the President of SYRIZA PS stressed his full support for the effort to reopen the Theological School of Halki.
