Today, Monday, August 1, they are being delivered to the “The Other Person: Free Community Kitchen”, 10 boxes of supplies collected in Tsirigo to meet the needs of people and animals.
Who is “The Other Man…”
«The Other Person» is not a charitable organization where the more fortunate help those in need. It is a self-managed initiative in which everyone who participates benefits. Everyone is equal around the pot; they cook together and eat the same food, even if they are different in every way.
For a meal to be prepared, however, it is preceded by the efforts of other people who spread the word about the initiative to their friends, at their children’s school, at their local sports club, at the neighborhood bar, and among their coworkers; and then some other people organized an event, some posted about it on Facebook, designed a poster, organized a party, a concert, or a performance, and invited their friends.
Then some other people went to the event and donated supplies and food, along with other goodies that had been sent to them by other people who are helping from afar. This creates interaction, communication, and mobilization among different people from various fields who ultimately work together toward a common goal.
