The organization is celebrating thirty years of continuous activity Kythira–Antikythira Blood Donors Association, beginning in 1997 and with a total that, according to the Association's data, amounts to approximately 3,000 units of blood and more than 1,000 patients who received help when needed.
At the anniversary blood drive, which was held to 30th edition on August 28, 29, and 30, 2026, a total of 116 units of blood, with the Association making special mention of the participation of young blood donors, including 17-year-olds with their parents' consent.
In a statement expressing its gratitude, the Association acknowledges the volunteer blood donors, the organizations, and the professionals who contributed to this year’s event, as well as the Blood Donation Department of Tzaneio Hospital, which, as he notes, has consistently supported this effort over the years.
«The 30 years of blood donation in Kythira are not just an anniversary. They are 30 years of solidarity, volunteerism, and the gift of life,» the Association notes.
