In more detail, on Saturday, November 5, 2022, we expect a change in the weather from the midday hours and from the west, with heavy rainfall and locally strong thunderstorms that in some cases will be accompanied by increased electrical activity, gusty winds and hailstorms. The phenomena will quickly expand across western Greece and progressively by the end of the day to the rest of the continent - with the exception of eastern Macedonia and Thrace - as well as to the western parts of Crete. In the early morning, visibility will be limited in places and fog will form. Atmospheric conditions favour the transport of dust from Africa to the west and south of the country.
The temperature will range in Western Macedonia from 2 to 20 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Northern Greece from 4 to 22-24 degrees Celsius, in Epirus from 6 to 24 degrees Celsius, in Thessaly from 5 to 25 degrees Celsius, in the rest of the mainland from 6 to 25-26 degrees Celsius, in the Ionian Islands from 16 to 22 degrees Celsius and in the Aegean Islands and Crete from 10 to 24-25 degrees Celsius.
Winds in the Aegean Sea will be south southeast with intensities of 5-6 Beaufort and locally 7 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea the winds will blow from the south with intensities of 6-7 Beaufort and locally 8 Beaufort, but in the evening they will weaken. It should be noted that during thunderstorms it is very likely that the winds will be locally gusty.
In Attica we expect a few clouds, which will increase in the afternoon and late in the evening it will rain. After the change of the day to Sunday the phenomena will intensify and storms will occur, which will be transiently strong and may be accompanied by hail. Winds will blow south southeast with intensities of 5-6 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 15 to 23 degrees.
In Thessaloniki we expect a few clouds that will gradually increase and towards the evening it will rain. At night towards Sunday the phenomena will intensify significantly and it is very likely that thunderstorms will occur. Early in the morning visibility will be locally limited. Winds will blow south southeast at 4-5 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 14 to 22 degrees.
