At the suggestion of the Society of Kytheraic Studies which was gladly accepted by the other Kytheraic institutions and associations, it was decided to organize a joint honorary event for the newspaper Kythiraika and its publisher Manolis Kalligeros, economist and researcher, prolific writer and journalist, who has been for more than twenty years vice-president of the Society of Kythera Studies. This honorary event was attended by the Kytherian Triphylion Foundation, the Kytheraic Studies Society, the Kytheraic Association of Athens, the Kytheraic Brotherhood of Piraeus-Athens and the Kytheraic Foundation for Culture and Development (KIPA).
The lawyer Costas Kalligeros, who referred to the general work, the scientific and social contribution of M. Kalligeros, the lawyer Gavrilis Nikiforakis, president of the Trifyllion Foundation, who spoke mainly about the cultural and intellectual contribution of the honoured through the newspaper Kythiraika and the economist and writer George Kasimatis, who, after exposing the humorous parameter that should adorn even the most serious publication, spoke about his own relevant column in the newspaper. The event was coordinated by the journalist Tasos Papadopoulos and on behalf of the organizers, the event was introduced by Professor Katie Aroni-Tsichli, president of the Society of Kytheraic Studies.
The event took place on 11 February 2026 in the hall of the Trifyllion Foundation in Athens and was attended by many Kythirians, philanthropists and other friends. At the end of the event, the honorary president of the Society of Kytherian Studies, Professor Nikos Petrochilos and the Academic Professor of the Law School of the University of Athens Apostolos Georgiadis took the floor and spoke about Manolis Kalligeros. At the end of the event Manolis Kalligeros was presented with an honorary plaque by the organizers of the event.
