An important step towards upgrading the health services provided on the island is the approval of the supply of a bone density machine from the General Hospital – K.Y. Kythira «Trifyllio.».
The decision was taken at the last meeting of the Hospital's Board of Directors, with the implementation process being undertaken by the 2nd Health Region of Piraeus and the Aegean, which has the necessary expertise to supply and install the equipment.
The new machine will enable diagnosis and monitoring of conditions related to osteoporosis, filling an important diagnostic gap on the island and reducing the need to transfer patients to Athens or other large hospitals.
