In the General Hospital - Health Center of Kythera «Trifyllion» was found from the 1 to 3 September 2025 the Deputy Governor of the 2nd Health Region of Piraeus & Aegean, Mr. Dimitrios Drossos. The working visit was focused on the problems and peculiarities of the hospital, with continuous meetings with the administration, the medical, nursing and other staff, but also with institutional bodies of the island.

Three-day working visit, from 1η up to 3η September, held at the General Hospital - Kythera Hospital, «Trifylleio», the Deputy Governor of the 2of Piraeus and Aegean Health Region, (2η Y.P.E.), Mr. Dimitrios Drossos, to which our Hospital belongs.
During his stay here, the Deputy Governor had continuous cooperation with the Hospital Management on all issues concerning our hospital. A meeting was held with the entire medical staff, who informed him in detail about the problems facing our Hospital due to its peculiarity as an island hospital, and they made suggestions on various issues. A productive discussion was then held on the issues raised. This was followed by meetings with other staff, nursing, administrative and technical, and a constructive discussion with the Bureau of the Employees' Association. He visited all the premises of the Hospital and observed the continuous efforts of the staff and management to ensure that the Hospital functions effectively for the benefit of the community.
Mr. Drossos informed the Governor that the following were announced by the 2η YPE. the positions of rural doctors for our Hospital, as well as for the Regional Clinics of Chora, Karvounades and Antikythera. Expressions of interest from potential candidates are awaited. He also reported that procedures are progressing for the advertisement of a Dentist position, 2no Surgeon, as well as an anaesthesiologist.
Finally, he paid a visit to the Metropolitan, Mr. Seraphim, and to the Mayor, Mr. Eustr. Harhalakis, with whom he discussed issues concerning our Hospital.
