In a dynamic and clear way, the President of the Municipal Community of Logothetianikon, Mrs. Adamantia Hlenzou, denounced the indifference and delays in meeting basic needs of the region. In her public statement, Mrs. Hlenzou stressed that she was not elected to idly watch the problems of the citizens, but to fight and demand solutions.
Requests such as the replacement of burnt out light bulbs, the repair of the dangerous road network, the cutting of trees that threaten public safety and the treatment of dilapidated buildings, are characterized by the President as elementary obligations of the Municipality that should not go unanswered. Calling for the immediate return of the fixed advance and the provision of the necessary tools to the communities, Ms. Hlenzhou declares her determination to continue her fight to solve the problems, with or without the support of the municipal government.
The full text of her statement follows:
«As President of the Logothetian Board, I have served for the past year and a half with the goal of bringing results for my community - not to play the decorative representative.
The demands of our residents are clear, urgent and just. I was not elected to send them over and over again without response. I was elected to demand and demand solutions.
Replacing burnt-out light bulbs, repairing the dangerous road network, cutting down life-threatening trees, removing all hazards in the public space, such as crumbling buildings, are not luxuries. They are elementary obligations of the municipality towards its citizens.
Any delay in this, any indifference, is an insult not to me, but to the citizens themselves.
The devaluation of communities and their people cannot continue. Give us immediately the fixed advance and the tools we need to deliver what we have promised.
Personally, I joined the community to fight, not to be silent. I am here to give and to challenge - and that is what I will continue to do, with or without your support.».
