An important intermediate goal in the course of the implementation of the action of EnCom Kythera has been achieved.

Today, 9.10.23, the complete file for approval of the terms of connection of a 1 MW energy park of EnKoin Kythera was submitted to DEDDIE. The file includes all the relevant study (technical description, preliminary drawings, zoning etc.) and we are optimistic that we will soon have the approval required to proceed to the next steps (mainly to find financing).

We recall that the energy park is located on a plot of land granted by the Property Ownership Committee - EEPKA at the location «Kamares» (adjacent to the existing carriage house of the Municipality and is ideal in all respects) and includes Photovoltaic Panels and the relevant accessories for a power of 1 MW.

At full operation the park is sufficient to cover the current Municipal, EEPKA and the 2 cooperatives' electricity consumption which is expected to lead to a significant reduction of the related costs (Municipal fees, Municipality and EEPKA operating costs and cooperatives' operating costs)

It is a continuation of «smaller» actions for the energy transition of Kythera (saving actions of the Municipality) and is the first «big» effort for a radical change of the energy mix in Kythera.

There is a commitment that this effort will continue with the expansion of the institution of the EnComms in the near future.
