Power outage in Kythira starting at 9:00 p.m.
Initial reports indicate that a transformer in Agios Nikolaos has been damaged following a fire that broke out in the Moudari area. Lightning struck HEDNO infrastructure at that location, causing a fire.
Firefighters are rushing to the scene.
It should be noted that problems with the HEDNO grid have been on the rise in recent years, and power outages are becoming increasingly common. The grid is particularly vulnerable to extreme weather events and is in urgent need of an upgrade.
