No more paper exhaust emission control cards

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has adopted a proposal by the regional governor of Attica, George Patoulis.

An unnecessary bureaucratic procedure is abolished, as the printed exhaust emission control cards (EL cards) shall be replaced by computerised certificates, which will be issued automatically by public and private MOT, as well as authorised vehicle workshops.

With the relevant circular of the Deputy Minister of Transport, Yannis Kefalogiannis, the use of the paper CECs already issued is valid until 31/12/2021. The computerised certificates will be implemented following a proposal by the regional governor of Attica George Patouli.

«With steady steps and in cooperation with the relevant Ministries, we are proceeding with the digital transformation of services, in order to serve citizens more directly and efficiently. Our common goal is to achieve the reduction of bureaucracy by continuously expanding the electronic service for citizens and businesses,» said George Patoulis.
