The dismissal of Minister of Education, Nikis Kerameos, calling - in a resolution posted online at avaaz -, students in the secondary education.
With this Resolution - which has already exceeded 11 thousand signatures - the students accuse Ms Kerameos of indifference to the problems of teletraining and for refusing to enter into dialogue with them.
At the same time, they denounce the incidents of police violence against underage students, deplore the reintroduction of the «regressive issue bank» and speak of delays and half measures on issues that need immediate attention.
Below is the resolution as posted online:
«We demand the immediate dismissal of Ms Kerameos.
Don't deprive us of the obvious!
In her 18 months as Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, she has proven not only incompetent but also threat to students.
We demand the immediate dismissal of Mrs Kerameos. Why:
1) It is indifferent to the obvious problems of tele-education.
2) It is responsible for the half-measures taken in the schools while they were in operation.
3) Refuses to engage in dialogue with students.
4) There have been incidents of police violence against underage students in recent months. A prime example is the incident at the Ministry of Education on 9 October
5) There are meaningless surprise experiments with changing the legislation six months before the national exams.
6)The regressive issue bank is restored.
7) Timing of the announcement of the new material.
We demand that we have no barriers to the education to which we are all entitled.
We demand that students not be deprived of the obvious, we demand someone who is up to the task of responding and understanding the education system and the needs of students.»
