One of the seven (7) aerial events that the most daring and adventurous of the large audience that participated in the ALEXANDER ONASSIS AIR SHOW 21, was skydiving in the divine palace of the heavenly Aphrodite, the sky of Chirigo.
Many people would certainly have liked to experience this unique experience, but either they didn't have time, unfortunately time was limited and the waiting list was endless, or even if there was time they would not have been able to overcome their fear to find themselves in the void.
So for everyone, whether this will be a revival of the «freedom flight» or the «impossible journey», here is the chronicle of a frame-by-frame, tandem (one behind the other), addiction free-fall, with the care and responsibility of the most experienced instructor Spyros Kalantzis, who landed with absolute safety, all those who participated in the jumps, despite the difficulties caused by the jealous, wind treasurer Aeolus, who visited Kythera uninvited.
So, after I secured the consent of the legendary Maria Kaburova - Lycaki, who is now known throughout the island for her two excellent jumps with the blue and white, free fall coordinator and vice president of the EL AO (Hellenic Aerospace Federation), I am sharing with you the commemorative photos of my beloved nephew Yannis Polyzos, a second-year student of mechanical engineering at the Hellenic University of Technology, with their captions where necessary.
The «flight of freedom», the exhortation to dream by Mary, in the following videaki, is dedicated to the indomitable spirit of man, who, from the time of the mythical Daedalus and Icarus, wanted to imitate birds and fly, something that was subsequently started to be realized by the Wright brothers and all those who contributed to the conception, foundation and understanding of the principles of aerodynamics. They gradually built the first flying structures, made of wood and cloth, to develop them into the flying «iron birds», which changed the course of history in the transport of people and goods, eliminating distances, even at speeds exceeding the inconceivable limit of the speed of sound transmission.
