Throughout his illustrious career with The Police, as well as a solo artist, Sting has sold a total of 100 million albums. Following his internationally acclaimed album, *57th & 9th*—his first rock/pop compilation in over a decade—Sting and reggae icon Shaggy—both represented by the same management company, Cherrytree Music Company—jointly released an album titled «44/876», combining each artist's unique music in a remarkable way.
With its title referencing symbols of their homeland, «44/876» celebrates, above all, the mutual love both artists share for Jamaica: Shaggy’s homeland and the place where Sting wrote masterpieces such as «Every Breath You Take» by The Police. Their hit single reached No. 1 in Germany and the Top 10 in the United Kingdom.
It also spent more than 20 weeks on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart in the U.S., earned gold certifications in Poland and France, and won the GRAMMY Award® for Best Reggae Album. In 2019, Sting was honored at the BMI Pop Awards for his most iconic hit «Every Breath You Take,» which was recognized as the song with the most radio plays (15 million) from BMI’s catalog of more than 14 million musical works.
